I spoke with Sharon Hauntz, who with her husband Mark
make up the team of Audio Video Specialists, Inc., a home-based
business specializing in television and home audio repair.
“We’ve been in business since 1989,” said Sharon.
“We used to have a storefront at 810 Central Avenue in Coos Bay
but now have relocated the business to 945 Arago Avenue in Coos
Audio Video Specialists is open Monday through Friday,
8:30 am to 5:30 pm, but since the Hauntz’s work out of their
home, customer’s need to call for an appointment before bringing
something by to be repaired. “Our main emphasis is on
mobile repair and set-up’s,” said Sharon. “We provide
in-home and carry-in estimates. We want customers to know that
we’ll set up and install their new TVs and sound systems for
them. Our goal is to simplify things for our customers. Setting up a
new flat-screen, high-definition TV can be a daunting task. We’ll
do that for you, and even program your cable or satellite remote to run
your TV! People love that and it’s fun helping people
get to enjoy their entertainment system instead of being frustrated
trying to figure out how to work it.”
I asked Sharon what the couple works on most frequently for customers.
“Our main business is to repair televisions and home audio systems,
DVDs, VCRs and receivers. Because so many new TVs are being sold we
also install and set them up for people, and if they have a sound
system that goes along with that new TV, we hook that up, too.”
and Sharon Hauntz of Audio Video Specialists will come to your home and
help you set up your new entertainment system or repair your old one.
I asked Sharon what she would like to let Shopper readers know about
their business, she replied, “We want to let people know that it is our
goal to provide services in setting up or repair of your electronic
equipment at an affordable price and in a timely manner. We can work
on any brand of TV out of warranty and are the authorized repair
service center for many manufacturers of televisions. We also work on
musical instruments like sound boards and guitar amps, and have set up
new sound systems for churches. If you need an estimate of what a new
sound system will cost, just give us a call and we’ll come to you!”
Mark and Sharon have lived in our area since 1985.
The Hauntz’s raised their three daughters here and call this
place home. Mark has enjoyed repairing electronics since he was a
teen. “I’d like to emphasize that Mark is a
talented technician that people have confidence in because he keeps up
on all the newest electronic trends. He knows his stuff, and he loves
helping people with their electronics,” said Sharon.
If you’ve got a TV or other electronic system
that’s no longer working, don’t throw it away! According to
Mark, “Sometimes repairing that item can save you money versus
going to buy a new one. A replacement item is sometimes a better choice
but many times repairing your current item makes more sense in the long
So just because Audio Video Specialists no longer has a
storefront, don’t think they’re out of business, because
that’s not the case! Give them a call at 541-267-0628 and get on
your way to enjoying your current or new entertainment system!
