The Best Smiles Are In Bandon!
By Linda Laverty
Our gorgeous Southern Oregon Coast attracts much of our population for its natural beauty and outdoor activities. Our temperate climate allows outdoor activity nearly every day of the year.

An active surfer, hiker and cyclist, Sharen Strong, DMD, decided a few years after graduating from OHSU College of Dentistry in 1992, that Bandon was a perfect place to live, work and play. She also gardens and enjoys caring for her cats and dogs.

Dr. Strong opened her practice in Dentistry in 1996. Education in oral health, along with complete dental services, are available to her patients.

Conveniently located in Old Town Bandon at 155 Delaware, alongside the Bandon Harbor, Dr. Sharen Strong enjoys this picturesque location that mirrors her own optimism.

Investment in one’s health is Dr. Strong’s encouragement to her patients. Her best tool to educate is her own example of all-around general good health, and of course a healthy, confident smile. “I feel health and well-being are extremely important. Good health starts with a trusting long term relationship with a health care professional,”  adds Dr. Strong. “I want to provide the best possible care, particularly focusing on whole patient needs.”

As a general dentist Dr. Strong does not practice in a specialty area. She provides all general dental services, her newest service being dental implants. Dental implants can help restore proper chewing function and regain a beautiful smile for renewed confidence.

Dr. Strong’s priority is education in health. She actively supports local schools and the City of Bandon, as well as other businesses and groups. Her love of animals spills over to much-needed support for the Coos County Animal Shelter.

It is no surprise her patients travel from as far as Burns because of their trust in her care. “I especially like to get teenagers and younger children, early enough to start their lifelong education in the health and care of their teeth,” says Dr. Strong. “The earlier they get care and education, the less cost and problems will occur as their lives continue.” She emphasizes it is so important to “nip” problems in the bud, so they don’t manifest into major care and cost later. That’s why education and regular check-ups are so important.  To stop the onset of gum disease, tooth decay, and other oral disease is as simple as preventative check-ups for early detection and correction.
