Humboldt Motorsports in Lakeside Expands

Roger Kirkpatrick is the owner of Humboldt Motorsports, part of a chain of stores which offer automotive customizing, motorcycle repair, automotive parts and accessories. They’re located at 72343 Hwy. 101 in the city of Lakeside on Highway 101 next to T’ree Acres.  In March of 2016 the Shopper ran an article about the company’s Grand Opening and the excitement surrounding their new location.

I spoke with Roger the other day about some exciting developments that have occurred at his shop in Lakeside. “We now have 10 acres and we’ve added 5000 sq. ft. of shop space,” Roger said.  “There’s been a big influx of customers coming from our larger shops in California and New York, and we’ve had people shipping us items from Canada, Washington and the Portland area to our Lakeside location. These customers are wanting to have us build custom side-by-sides, quads, and off-road trucks.”

Humboldt Motorsports, located in Lakeside, has expanded their business and now has storage and can help you build metal buildings.

Something else that’s new at Humboldt Motorsports is their Pacific Metal Buildings dealership.  They’ve been the number one dealer in California for these buildings, which meet all of the Oregon state standards and are fully engineered.  “SWOCC has purchased some of these buildings already,” said Roger.  “We get calls for three to four buildings a week.  They range from 12 x 20 feet to 30 x 100 and are full metal.  In our California location we’ve actually sold them up to 1,000 feet long. Humboldt Motorsports is the only place selling buildings like this in the area.  These buildings come fully engineered for the State and County standards. Licensed contractors put them up, for either residential or commercial use, very quickly.”

“In addition, we’ve put up two large shop buildings here in Lakeside,” Roger continued.  “These buildings are heated and secure facilities.  So now our customers can store their vehicles here, we’ll service them, and then the customers come back and ride them. My goal is to provide storage for the locals who do not have it, as well as for vacationers. It can be a pain to bring quads, bikes, and side-by-sides back and forth from home to the dunes up here.  Nobody around here has ever offered that before.  We have a big clientele from Canada and Washington who want to ride the dunes.  So we’re expanding into the custom truck market and currently have two major off-road truck builds being built in our shop.”

Humboldt Motorsports of Lakeside has also expanded into a trailer dealership, selling Hallmark, PJ and Featherlite trailers, enclosed box and utility trailers. “We’re keeping about a quarter million in inventory here for our customers,” said Roger.  “And we’ve got lots more to pull from our other stores.  I sold three trailers here just today.” Humboldt Motorsports also has financing available for the trailers.

I asked Roger if there are other services that Humboldt Motorsports in Lakeside will be offering.  “Later this year we’re going to be getting a Dyno for motor performance and tuning for motorcycles, ATV, UTV and cars/trucks” he replied.  “We’ll also have a full machine shop in place starting March for UTV, ATV and dirt bikes. The storage facility is available to everybody already.  You ride it, if you break it, we fix it and store it.”

Humboldt Motorsports has five employees that are certified technicians for Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, KTM, Polaris, Can Am, are ASE certified, with Dyno jet performance school training. They’ll provide parts and service for your motorcycle, ATV, or side-by-side off-road truck. “We’ve partnered up with Coos Bay Speedway and the new owner Drake,” said Roger, “and we are introducing the first side-by-side class for the dirt circle.”

If you’re looking for quality, experienced sales and service for your auto, motorcycle or ATV, or utility trailer, looking to buy a metal storage building for home or commercial use, or needing storage space for your toys, give Humboldt Motorsports a call at 541-759-1255. They’re open Tuesday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturdays 9 am to 4 pm. You can find them online at Humboldt Motorsports on Facebook or www.humboldtmotorsports.com.
