dad’s automotive shop while he was still in high school in
Garberville, California. Both his parents passed away within a year of
each other, and Roger immersed himself in his education, both at the
University of Arizona and at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, later
joining the Honda Plano racing team as a mechanic.

Eureka, CA is expanding their atv andmotorcycle service, repair and
custom work to Lakeside, OR.
Humboldt County, Roger worked as a serviceman for five years, earning
certifications from Honda and Yamaha, then went on to help establish
Eureka Motorsports Center, where he served as general manager. In 2008
he opened Humboldt Motorsports, which boasts 120,000 square feet on 7.5
acres in Eureka. “I’ve been on the Discovery
Sports, and we’re currently on the cover of Dirt Wheels
which has a circulation of 15 million,” said Roger.

new shop. “I‘m just an average guy, and I felt like
a good means of advertising and getting involved in the
community,” said Roger. “There’s
a lot of really
good people here that have helped me out. People from the South Coast
have been driving three and a half hours to see me in California; now
we can provide service right here for them. I’m able to bring
a parts and buying power that nobody else here can offer.

opening. “Later this summer we’ll have a grand
opening,” said Roger, “with exciting things for the
community like fleet discounts for logging and rental companies.
We’re going to be bringing in very skilled mechanics, and
we’re open to any suggestions from the community.”
