Tuesday, June 17 from 10:00am-12:00pm the Coos Bay Public Library is hosting a party to kick-off summer with games, free books, and cake. Representatives from the Charleston Marine Life Center, the South Slough Estuarine Marine Reserve, and Oregon State University’s Food Hero Program are joining in the festivities with games and activities. The free event is geared towards kids and families 18 and under; participants under the age of 18 will receive a free book as part of the event.
Attendees will have a chance to pick up the Coos Bay Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge, which begins on Tuesday and will continue through August 16. As part of the challenge, participants can earn entry tickets for a grand prize drawing, as well as a one-of-a kind commemorative t-shirt. The challenge is open for all ages.
