The Coos Bay Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is proud to announce its annual Flag Disposal Event, providing the community with a respectful way to retire worn and tattered American flags. The event runs from April 1 through May 31, with multiple collection sites available throughout Coos and Curry counties.
Once again, the Coos Bay Chapter DAR is partnering with the Coos Bay Library to offer a convenient drop-off location, ensuring community members have easy access to participate in this important tradition.
Community members can drop off disposable flags at the following locations:
Coos Bay Library – 525 Anderson Ave., Coos Bay
Coastal Swag – 1717 Oregon St., Port Orford
Ace Hardware – 840 Oregon Ave SE., Bandon
Coquille Library – 105 N Birch St., Coquille
Coos County OSU Extension – 631 Alder St., Myrtle Point
Proper flag disposal is a time honored tradition that pays tribute to the American flag with the respect it deserves. The Coos Bay Chapter DAR invites all community members to participate by bringing their worn flags to one of the designated drop-off locations. Help us ensure our nation’s flag is retired with dignity.
