GRWB STEP’s Annual Labor Day Weekend Salmon Derby was canceled by extremely low forecasts for returning Umpqua River Fall Chinook Salmon. The derby was GRWB STEP’s #1 fund raiser.

Despite the 2025 Labor Day weekend STEP Salmon Derby being cancelled, STEP will hold a public Extended Fund Raising Raffle at Blue Box Seafood on Sunday, August 31st at 2:30 PM.

Expanded Fund-Raising Raffle Prices:

1 ticket-$2.00;  3 Tickets-$5.00; 7 tickets-$10.00; 15 tickets-$20.00. Tickets available at Ace Hardware in Reedsport; Salmon Harbor Tackle in Winchester Bay

Grand Prize: complete Kayaking Package including life jacket, kayak paddle, rod & reel and a tackle box filled with goodies.

Additional raffle prizes: rods & reels, tackle, outdoor recreation and camping gear, guided fishing and crabbing trips, merchandise from local businesses, gift certificates and  much, much more.

One lucky angler’s ticket will be drawn for the GRWB STEP Daiwa Tanacom 1000 Electric Assist Reel & Penn Rod, (a $900.00 value). *Tickets: $10.00 each

Winners announced for the Reedsport, Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce and Winchester Bay Merchants Association CRAB BOUNTY. 1st place cash prize: $1000.00; 2nd place: $500.00. Additional winners receive $100.00 Gift Certificates.
