The Zonta Coos Bay Area Service Foundation is pleased to announce applications for Girls Rock it Tools & Trades (GRiTT) Summer Day Camp are open through May 15. Now in its fifth year, GRiTT summer camp, is a free day camp for girls aged 8-12 to learn basic construction methods. Camp is held at the Old Charleston School. Week One (Wednesday to Friday, August 6-8) is for new campers, and Week Two (Wednesday to Friday, August 13-15) is open to campers who completed Week One or campers who attended GRiTT in previous years. Enrollment is limited to 16 campers each week. If more than 16 applications per week are received, campers will be chosen by lottery drawing.
GRiTT is operated by the Zonta Club of the Coos Bay Area with Zonta members and other community volunteers as instructors and helpers. Our primary instructors are Richard Stillwagon and Kell Smith from Oregon Coast Artisan and Trades Education Collective (OCATEC).
