
On October 8, 2025 Charles H. Reeves also known as Chuck Reeves or Judge Reeves, passed away, joining his heavenly family. Charles, 96 years old was born to Lester and Addie Reeves on April 1, 1929 in Tyron North Carolina. At age 12 the family left North Carolina and moved to Westport Oregon where Charles attended school and graduated from Westport High. He married his high school sweetheart Betty Ann Lammi and pursued his law degree at Willamette University. After law school he and Betty moved to Coos Bay where Charles joined the Seaman Law Firm. He practiced law there for 14 years before being appointed to the bench as Coos County District Court Judge where he served for 25 years. He and Betty had 3 children together Jeff, Debra, and Pam. Together they enjoyed all the great outdoor activities that Coos County has to offer such as fishing, clamming, crabbing, hunting, beach combing and camping. He was active in the Jaycees and Elks, and the Coos Bay Methodist Church. In 1973 he married his second wife Barbara Jenkins. Barbara, her son Jeff Jenkins, and Charles spent time down at their cabin they built on the Rogue River salmon fishing, which became a huge part of his retirement life. Catching many big Salmon in what is known as “The Judges Hole”. Charles was very involved in his church and cherished the fellowship at The Emanuel Baptist Church in Coquille Oregon.
Charles was predeceased by his oldest Brother Bill Reeves who was killed in World War II. Bill was in the last Calvary unit in Burma when he died at a young age fighting for his country. He was also predeceased by his brother Dr. Walter Reeves, dad Lester Reeves, mom Addie Reeves, first wife Betty L. Reeves, second wife Barbara Reeves, and daughter Pam Sichting.
Charles is survived by his son Jeff Reeves and wife Colleen of North Bend, daughter Debra Jurasevich Falk and husband Dave of Drain, Step-son Jeff Jenkins and wife Kris of Eugene, Grandson’s Josh Reeves and Jared Reeves of North Bend, Lee Jurasevich and Braton Jurasevich of Eugene, James Jurasevich of Drain , Grandaughter’s Lindsay Reeves-Russell of North Bend, Katie Waters of Edwards AFB, Annie Wiebe of Seattle, Grace Beck of Costa Mesa CA and 19 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be arranged and announced for after the holidays.
