The world became a richer place on June 18, 1935 at 6:30 am when Kay Edith McCampbell was born in Oakland, Ca to Charles and Edith McCampbell, the 4th of 7 children. Attending several different schools, and graduating from Richmond Union High School in January 1953 in Richmond, Ca, she changed her name to Kay Edith Stumpf after marrying Ronald Stumpf on February 5, 1955. She was a member of Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO), volunteered for many organizations including Umpqua Discovery Center, local libraries, hospitals, and sang in her church choir. While in Grangeville, she was instrumental in establishing the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store. Kay enjoyed traveling the US and other countries including Germany, Ireland, Italy, Panama and Mexico.
