William Arthur Scheidemantel, lovingly known as “Bill,” passed away January 16, 2026, at the age of 70. He was born in Coos Bay, Oregon, to Erwin and Rita Scheidemantel and later made his home in North Bend.

Bill worked in construction for many years and took pride in his work. One of his favorite chapters of life was helping at Papa Dogg’s alongside his good friend Larry, a place that brought him a lot of enjoyment.

Bill enjoyed visiting with friends, collecting, and especially family photographs. He liked looking through old pictures and remembering the good times.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Winona Scheidemantel.

He is survived by his daughter, Britney, and her husband, Eric; his son, Jonathan, and his wife, Alisha; and his three granddaughters, AnnMarie, Samantha, and Payton. He is also survived by his sister, Ange Norris, along with extended family.

Bill will be remembered for his work ethic, his love of familiar faces, and the simple things he enjoyed in life.
