The exhibit titled "Mission Possible 2: Building Community Uniting a Nation the Nonviolent Way" invites the public to view inspiring artwork created by Coos County elementary students. Through paintings, drawings, and writing, students express how they are influenced by Dr. King’s legacy of peace, nonviolence, and unity.
The exhibit will be on display exclusively at Pony Village Mall, located at 1611 Virginia Avenue in North Bend, from Saturday, January 17 through Sunday, February 8. Mall hours are Mon-Fri 10am-8pm, Sat 10am-6pm, and Sun 11am-6pm. The exhibit highlights the belief that freedom justice and democracy can be safeguarded when communities unite through love and nonviolent action. Sponsored by the Human Rights Advocates of Coos County the exhibit challenges visitors to actively build community and continue Dr. King’s mission in 2026 and beyond.
Beginning January 12, the King Center will host national events celebrating the 2026 King Holiday including Nonviolence365 training, children’s book readings, global summits, and the MLK Jr. Beloved Community Awards. The week concludes January 19 with the Beloved Community Commemorative Service at Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church.
