City Wide Clean Up Day Scheduled for April 18 in Honor of Earth Day 2026

Coos Bay, OR — Residents of Coos Bay and North Bend are invited to participate in a City Wide Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 18, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in honor of Earth Day 2026.

This community-driven event encourages residents to give back by donating essential goods and properly disposing of household waste and recyclables.

Participants can drop off: Up to 4 cans (35-gallon size) of household garbage and recyclables, in exchange for donations of at least 4 items of food, OR $4 in cash.

Please note: Tires, appliances, furniture, metal, and hazardous materials will NOT be accepted. For questions regarding sanitation services, residents are encouraged to contact Les’ Sanitary Service at 541-267-2848.

Donations will benefit the South Coast Food Share, helping provide meals to local individuals and families in need. Highly needed food items include: Non-meat protein, Tuna, Ready-to-eat canned meals (such as soup, stew, and chili). In addition to canned food donations, cash contributions are also encouraged. According to South Coast Food Share, every dollar donated can provide approximately three meals, making monetary donations an efficient way to maximize impact.

Four convenient locations will be available:

South 4th Street Parking Lot (between Anderson & Curtis, Coos Bay)

Eastside Fire Station – 365 D Street, Coos Bay

Empire Boat Ramp, Coos Bay

Pony Village Mall (by Mini Pet Mart, North Bend)
