Conversations Beyond the Walk

Conversations Beyond the Walk (CBTW) was created to increase awareness about suicide prevention long after the annual Out of Darkness Walk. CBTW offers suicide prevention training and discussions to stay connected, supported and hopeful - together as a community. Suicide prevention is everyone's business.

Join us for the entire event or attend either of the scheduled activities below:

Friday, March 20, 2026 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, at the Port Orford Senior & Activity Center, 1536 Jackson St., Port Orford. Light refreshment provided.

1:15 - 2:15 pm Question -> Persuade -> Refer: Suicide Prevention Training.

This training is appropriate for community members who may interact with someone who is thinking about suicide. Like CPR, QPR is designed to offer support for someone is experiencing a crisis until help arrives.

No mental health experience required. Your willingness to apply QPR saves lives.

2:30 - 3:45 pm Intro to Connect Postvention in the Community

This is an opportunity to learn and share ideas to build community support, educate and prevent suicide in your community.

Drop-ins welcome, registration preferred to help plan for the event. Register on Eventbrite using search phrase: "conversations beyond the walk port orford".
