On Saturday, January 17, 2026, the Coos Bay Public Library is having a fundraiser to celebrate Dolly Parton’s Birthday in the Myrtlewood Room. The fundraiser will start at 5:00 pm and will go until 7:00 pm. This is a 21+ event, and the entry fee is $18.00. We will have two Dolly-themed specialty cocktails, Dolly-o-Ke, Dolly Desserts, and more!

We here at the Coos Bay Public Library love Dolly Parton. So, we wanted to throw her a birthday party in celebration of everything that she does and use it as an opportunity to fundraise to make sure that the kids can keep reading.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners. In Coos Bay alone, we have 700 kids a year involved with this incredible program. But it does cost us $25.00 a year per kid to  keep them enrolled.
